- Where personal finance and personal freedom collide

"Until and unless you discover that money is the root of all good, you ask for your own destruction. When money ceases to be the tool by which men deal with one another, then men become the tools of men. Blood, whips and guns – or dollars. Take your choice – there is no other – and your time is running out." — Francisco d'Anconia's speech about money in Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand

Renewed the URL

curtis — 4 April 2009 - 2:43pm

Just a quick note to mention that I renewed the URL last week. Which means I should probably get back to posting on a semi-regular basis.

April should be a more prolific month. It would be hard not to be....

Sorry for the downtime

curtis — 18 January 2009 - 12:48pm

Hi all, sorry that the site has been down. I'm even more sorry for the lack of posts over the last week – hoping to change both of those soon.

I had to move the server that Money $ Liberty is hosted on to a new location this weekend. The move went fine, but there were some networking issues that prevented connecting the server as soon as I had hoped. I think things are resolved now, but there may be some things that need to be worked out.

Best Money $ Liberty posts of 2008

curtis — 3 January 2009 - 11:25pm

I wasn't the most consistent blogger last year, but I managed at least one post in each month except April. I am a little disappointed in the number of posts I wrote (42), which was a little more than half as many as the previous year (77). Most of these were in the latter half of the year, when I renewed my vigor and will to succeed.

Trying out my new iPod touch

curtis — 1 January 2009 - 9:05pm

I got a new iPod Touch a few days ago and wanted to test posting to a blog. It's nice for short posts but would be tedious for the meandering treatises I am wont to scribe.

Taking a long, hard look at my dedication to this blog

curtis — 13 September 2008 - 3:55pm

Okay, I like money. I also like liberty. That's why I started this site – it mashes together two things that I am deeply interested in.

I also like blogging. I've wanted to be a writer for as long as I can remember. I write for my "real" job on topics chosen for me, and I enjoy writing on topics of my own choosing, at my leisure.

But apparently liking something is not enough to actually do it frequently, and to do it well.

Domain name issues

curtis — 3 August 2008 - 7:41am

Sorry if anyone tried to visit my new site in the last week or so. I had some issues with the new domain name and DNS forwarding. I was on vacation, and it wasn't something I could take care of remotely. I think I've got everything sorted now, so hopefully there won't be any more issues.

I should be adding some more posts soon.

Welcome to Money Liberty!

curtis — 24 July 2008 - 10:01pm

Hi everyone!

Welcome to my new site. I used to blog over at moneyliberty.blogspot.com, but I finally decided to take the plunge and get a free domain name for one year.

Hope you enjoy the new site. Please bear with me as I work out some of the finer points of the site navigation and design. Feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed or Atom feed.

Check out my new stock blog

curtis — 13 May 2008 - 10:49am

Howdy all!

It's been awhile since I've blogged, and I apologize. Hopefully nobody's been anguishing about my lack of posts, and you've all taken some time to catch up on other financial matters that need attending to.

Musing on my own laziness and lack of consistency...

curtis — 14 December 2007 - 9:13pm

Well, it's been a week since I last posted. Why is it that whenever I start getting into the grove of posting regularly, I somehow seem to derailed. Anyway, I logged in to respond to a comment on my post about the myths of "free, universal" health care, and figured I'd better do a real post. Coming up shortly...

Drained

curtis — 3 December 2007 - 1:53pm

This post has nothing to do with personal finance....

Have you ever had one of those days when you are just absolutely drained? Today is one of those for me, and it's not even done yet.

I know I haven't posted much in the last week or so, but I have a couple posts in progress. It's snowing heavily tonight, so I likely will be inside and not doing much. Or shoveling.
